How to setup your wordpress blog ?

Filed Under (General) by Ashley on 08-07-2008

When I started the blogging then I first setup my blog on on blogger , but it was not that cool as there were limited access for some tools that’s why I decided to move to self hosted blog but it was one of the difficult thing for me , I did not know the method how to setup a self hosted wordpress blog . However after I searched for the method and I found good help on Digitalpoint forums , finally I setup my self hosted blog but again I got some problem wit my hosting , as the hosting was not that reliable then one friend told me to switch to web hosting cpanel which has a lot of unlimited features and which has satisfactory 99% uptime gurantee .

Then I moved all of my database files to the new host and now my blog is shinning like a gold lol – You will never find anything wrong in Ashley blog , I like that blog very much and you will always see interesting articles on Ashley blog .

Actually , whenever you setup a site then your first preference should be a good hosting , when you will buy good hosting for your site then it will leave a good impression on your visitors , but if you will not buy good hosting for your site then it may have some negative impressions on the readers mind . Ofcource if I found some site down then I never visit to that site again as I know that this site is not that important as it is hosted on non-reliable hosting .

Although you can buy good hosting for cheap rates but some guys don’t concentrate on this thing and just for free or cheapest hosting which not only reduces the site’s potential but it also reduces the popularity of that site , I hope You will never neglect this hosting thing lol !!

Leo is ruled by the Sun !

  • GeneralThe sign Leo is ruled by the Sun. Physically it is related to the heart and back. It is said to have a masculine nature, and is therefore more extrovert in its energy. As a Fire sign, Leo is connected with the principle of identity, and as it is also classed as a Fixed sign, planets placed here have a stabilizing effect, conserving and building individual character. There is a strong creative manifestation and self-expression connected with the sign - planets placed in Leo act in a dramatic way and need to experienced themselves reflected in their surroundings. When planets are expressed negatively in this sign there will often be pride, narcissism and self-importance. When expressed positively there is a warmth and joy in being, and a playful, romantic nature. This sign is associated with children, charisma and entertainment. Planets in Leo act with authority and power, exerting a compelling influence on others. Greater balance can be attained if the capacity to see oneself objectively is cultivated.Your relationship to your father has direct relation to your degree of self-confidence. Although you can be warm, gallant and charming, you have a strong need to dominate in partnerships and have a tendency to be attention-grabbing precisely because of insecurity in this area. You are romantic, and not averse to the occasional affair to give your ego the shine it needs. Great challenges in your life occur in connection with your sense of identity. In these periods of crisis you will tend to radically change your image. Your exaggerated sensitivity to the kind of impression you make on your loved one makes way, as you mature, for a stronger sense of self-security based on inner convictions. It is at these times that false pride and elitism bite the dust, and your natural nobility emerges.I found this section hit pretty damn close to home. Impressive.
  • LoveLeos are known for being hot and passionate. They are magnetic types whose confidence, energy and flirtatious nature draws many interesting love possibilties to them. In love, Leos are creative, enthusiastic and completely romantic, so they’ll come up with lots of fun ways to show they care for that special someone. Leos need a lot of praise and compliments from their romantic partners, too, and they will only be happy with someone who is willing to worship them openly. They also look for someone whose energy matches their own, because the perfect partner for a Leo can keep up with them on all their exciting, dramatic escapades.
  • CareerIf there’s someone who likes being the center of attention, it’s a Leo. And why not? Those born under this Sign are giving, proud, energetic, confident — the world can’t help but look! That is as it should be, says the Lion. They’re firebrands with plenty of smolder in their eyes and a golden glow all around. Leos are focused in their work and make excellent team leaders. The Lion is also a risk-taker, someone who wants the world (for starters) and often gets it.Whether it’s for a big project or a noble cause, getting the Lion to jump on board is a shrewd move — and one that’s sure to attract attention! These folks can’t help but be in the limelight, thanks to their larger-than-life personality. Hand-in-hand with this is an infectiously positive attitude. Colleagues are often quick to seek out the Lion as a role model, since those signature qualities of leadership, truth and justice are ones that many seek. However, Leos must be careful not to indulge in selfishness or manipulation or to fall into a state of complacency. And as for all that primping and posing, Lion: enough is enough! Yes, life is a banquet, and you are the star, but do you really want to let yourself go that way? As much as the Lion likes being in the spotlight, there really is plenty of room for a team to assemble all around. Is there a game to be won? a deal to close? The Lion’s team is the winning team, and a happy bunch of cats it is.The Leo office is likely to be overwhelmed by the throne behind the desk. And you thought it was a chair? Ha! That desk, of course, is gleaming mahogany, as is the well-stocked liquor cabinet in the corner. Lions are usually driven around in Bentleys, but will take the wheel of a Lexus if they’re at a start-up. Cutting a deal with Leo over lunch? It’d better be the Ritz!Leos are well suited as managers, architects, inventors, teachers, athletes and Presidents.

yet another day of nothingness to report. I very quickly added some new themes, but they all need to be worked through, so I’ll have that, at least, to amuse me for a few hours. Talked to Spencer today. The distance and time away from him is making me miss him and appreciate when I talk to him and see him more. I mean, he’s not that far away, so I didn’t get as upset as when I was leaving last summer for Canmore, but still…. I’m trying to think of something fun for us to do this summer. I’ll more likely than not be going out West to visit my dad and brother, but I don’t know if that’s a trip for two or just one. Hmmm….we’ll see. There are some pretty nice places around here for weekend getaways.Trying to think of some good ideas for site/blog content. If anyone does happen across this, feel free to throw me some suggestions?? :innocent: Oh! Speaking of new/interesting site stuff - I decided to buy a domain name today. I’m cheap, so I’ll still be sticking with the free hosting for now, but the domain name seems like pennies considering it’s a year’s subscription. Once the name is activated, this will be ashgrace.net By the way, since it only seems fair (and since I am pleased with the deal), I got my domain name from here: 1&1 Internet Inc. (just in case anyone else might be itching for their own domain name??

‘Christ, sometimes I really hate being a woman! I mean, don’t get me wrong, I much prefer being a woman over a man, but you can’t help but have some complaints, right?Anyways, as you probably guessed, I’m cranky about my best monthly friend ever. I always feel a little extra-emotional on my first day and this, of course, is no exception! I keep crying for almost no reason whatsoever! Bah! I know it’s just craziness, but I could really do without it! I’ve already been feeling frustrated enough lately without adding unreasonable emotional behaviour to the mix.I walked to Kasia’s today to visit for a bit before she had to go to the school for a computer lab. I think I got a burn….When I initially got there, my face was so red! I just stood with half my body hanging in Kasia’s big stand-alone freezer. Once I cooled down (which honestly took at least an hour), my face was still a bit pink, so boo for easy-to-burn skin. BOOO!And just to round out the greatness of today, I got in an argument with my dad tonight. We always get in arguments when it comes to money, and I was trying to avoid the conversation, but it just ended up happening anyways. We’re so alike in how stubborn we are, so all we do is bang heads until we get away from the situation. The end result tonight was me hanging up the phone. I feel bad, but I was frustrated and I just like to cut off situations like that when I don’t want to deal with them….on the phone, that means hanging up.So I had alot of great stuff to say today, eh? Well I did get the guestbook up and running. I know the layout isn’t anything special, but I was a little lazy….’,

‘Ah! It has been so hot out today! It got up to 30ish degrees and it’s now 10:00 PM and still 24 degrees! I don’t know about people living around the Equator, but for around here, this is hot enough for my liking! Humidity is not my friend! Sleep should be sticky and uncomfortable tonight…..damn lack of Central Air Not much happening this week….just went over to Kasia’s yesterday to hang out for the day. Sat out in her backyard with her roommate and some neighbours with our feet in the kiddy pool for a couple of hours. We headed downtown to do some banking and a bit of shopping and then headed back to her house for a movie…which I never ended up watching because I had to get home to get some stuff done. Just sat around today and probably won’t be doing much until the weekend. added some pictures and I’m working on getting some more up. I also added a little plugin to appreciate my commenters. I’m working on a guestbook to keep myself amused and it’s just about finished, so I’ll probably have that up by the end of the week. I found the AJAX comments plugin which I absolutely love — the comments appear without the whole page refreshing! I also found this link on DMB about getting your so-called VisualDNA. I was pretty curious, as you might expect, so I took a peek and was pleasantly surprised! I recommend checking it out! If you’d like to see mine

On hold !!

Gah! I hate having to call companies and be made to first navigate through the stupid automated menus, and then be put on hold forever to talk to a real person. Something was going wrong with my domain registration with 1&1 Internet Inc. so I called in this morning about it. Apparently they were going to need me to send in some personal information to verify my identity….? So I get put on hold for 30 minutes, waiting for the cancellation guy, and he told me to just go to “cancel.1and1.com” and cancel my account. Oh wow - so I waited 30 minutes to be told that?! I try what he says, and the site won’t let me logon - apparently my account does not exist. So I call back again and wait for another 15 minutes — the end result of all this: to cancel my account, I just need to not reply to the confirmation email. Simple. Wish finding out about it would be a little less complicated!I checked out some other companies to register my new domain at and, this time, chose GoDaddy. This company is working out much better - my domain was up and running in minutes. Here’s a warning from my own experience: DO NOT bother with 1&1 Internet Inc

‘got an interview from Bell World at the mall on May 9 at 3:00! I’m a little nervous about the interview because I never got the callback for the Short Stop, and this is a much more serious business!  I need to figure out something to wear too - this time I actually care about wearing no jeans and what not.Other than getting this interview, I have done absolutely nothing today.I should have gone grocery shopping, taken The Good Shepherd back to Blockbuster, done my laundry, booked an appointment with the doctor, and handed a resume in at a flower store. The flower store is right beside the convenience store one of my good friends, Kasia, works at so that has potential to be a fun summer job.really have nothing substantial to say at this point (surprise, surprise, eh?) - I just had an urge to type up an entry. I’m adding new stuff to the site bit-by-bit. I’ll probably be moving hosts (though that’s not for sure at this point yet) and finally get the site running under the new domain name. Ahh….I have no yet begun to learn the art of patience.

Hello! My name is Ashley! I am a 22 year old physics student @ the University of Guelph. I love reading, my computer, penguins, dogs, and video games. My favourite bands include Jurassic 5, Radiohead, Jay-Z, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metric, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, and more. I”m a terrible nail-biter, I have horrible vision, and I had braces when I was younger. I”m outgoing, laidback, and loyal, but I can be very stubborn (and I”m a terrible procrastinator!)

Mother’s day

Filed Under (Family, Fun Times, General) by Ashley on 13-10-2007

That time of the year that you shower mother with love and admiration. Well, in my case, my grandma (although my father also deserves it :heh: ). I ordered flowers to be sent to her a week or so ago, and I have to call her tonight to say hi, see if she got them, tell her I love her, etc. I’m horrible on the phone and I don’t know why, but, with stuff like this, I always feel awkward. Anyways, hopefully the flowers got to her. Want to see them? Really? Well then, here you go!. I liked them because they were nice and bright. Besides, a grandma is going to like anything you give her, right? In other news, I upgraded my hosting plan and now the forms on my site can be processed! I’ve made the contact form available to anyone interested. And please, feel free to be interested - I like to know the people visiting my site a little better. I also added that Quick Facts widget you see to your right. Notice the little bee? If you don’t already know what that is, it’s a link to my Quilting Bee Quilt. It’s just a little pixel club that I joined when I had my old site and I was really interested in getting back into. Take a look! Oh…I also got rid of the “Daily Cartoon” I had on the sidebar…I decided it really just annoyed me mostly.Spent this weekend doing more or less nothing, but the important part is that it was with people I enjoy. Spencer came down yesterday and had some people over to his new house, which was a nice change from sitting around my house alone. I made cupcakes with Betty Crocker rainbow chip cake mix and some vanilla icing that I coloured with neon food colouring. They were pretty good - I made 24, there were 5 of us at Spencer’s, and there were 4 cupcakes left in the morning. So my life isn’t very exciting….but I have cupcakes

Change is Good??

Or so the saying goes. I’m still sitting on the fence on this one, myself. My life has always changed so much and so quickly, and, as usual, I can’t decide how I feel about it. On the one hand, I’m accustomed to it…I even tend to change on purpose when I’m feeling lost or trapped in life. I can easily see my life in neat little packets. Mini-eras with their own sets of people and places and events, but none are connected to one another. Sounds strange, maybe, but it’s the best description I’ve got. On the other hand, I never liked having so much change in my life - I adapted because I had to.Anyways, all this internal dialogue is coming about because I just feel like things are going to change soon. Not that my gut is a crystal ball into the future…..but I’ve found it actually has a pretty good success average….I can think back to at least a few other times when I’ve been sitting around thinking about this, and it’s only been a small matter of time before something came up. Well…hold on and see what happens is all I can do I guess.I don’t feel much like explaining anymore than that, so on to other topics. I’ve done a bit more around the site - added another theme, changed the emoticons (I’m not 100% on them yet), and added some more patches to my Qbee quilt. Nothing too impressive, I know. I’ve been tinkering with the idea of making a book site. I’ve got alot of time on my hands this summer, and I’ve been filling it with reading. Why not take up more of my time making a website out of it??’,
